Testarossa Vineyards is located in Los Gatos, California approximately sixty miles south of San Francisco. It founded in 1993 by Rob and Diana Jensen. The name Testarossa was a nickname given to Rob when he was a young university student studying in Italy. They winery was the former site of the Mirassou Champagne cellars.Testarossa is dedicated to making small lots of vineyard-designated wines from only best vineyards in the cool ocean-influenced counties of Monterey, Santa Barbara County, California|Santa Barbara and Sonoma Counties. They receive the majority of their high quality fruit from the Bien Nacido Vineyard in the Santa Maria Valley. In Monterey County they have long-term relationships with the Sleepy Hollow Vineyard and the Pisoni Vineyard, both in the east-facing Santa Lucia Highlands Appellation, and, since 1999, with Rosella's Vineyard and Garys' Vineyard. Also in Monterey County, Testarossa is the first winery to produce a vineyard-designated Chardonnay from t! he Michaud Vineyard, farmed and owned by former 20-year Chalone Winemaker Michael Michaud. Recently they have begun to purchase grapes from Clos Pepe Vineyard, in the Santa Ynez Valley, and are also closely working with three new Pinot Noir vineyards in Sonoma County.

I bought this several years ago (before Amazon was around), and I love it. I loved the song "Bangkok" back when it got so much airplay in the 80's, and it was a pleasure to hear the rest of the musical. However, after spending $35 on the 2 disc set, one of the cd's cracked after a few plays. It wasn't my player, or anything like that - it just simply cracked. So one of these days I will replace it, and then I will be SURE to make a backup straight off just in case. Also, I've never heard the Broadway version, but my husband has listened to both and says the original London cast version is far superior.

This is the first solo from Eric Lichter of Seattle's proto-legendary Green Pajamas.The album is a beautiful, often surreal, always original experience.A couple of these songs (for example, "Wildly Polite," "Bag of Rice") are so gorgeously gentle, the gut-deep emotional punch only creeps up on you after a couple of listens.One or two - like the wild, weird "Papa Quayle" - are distinctive to the point of oddity.Not that there's anything wrong with that!But most of the album is simply great songwriting, brief rock-and-pop ballads with golden hooks and a slightly skewed point of view.Halfway through the painful, hilarious "Hayley Mills" you'll be reliving your childhood crush on the girl with the "sad, funny British lips," and singing along with the angst.Lichter is a startling talent, to say the least.I loved this CD, it only gets better each time I hear it.I just wish it included a lyric sheet!But deciphering Lichter's mind games is half the fun.

Palm wine, also called palm toddy, is an alcoholic beverage created from the sap of various species of palm tree. The sap is collected by cutting between the ''kernels'' of the tree. Some sort of container, such as a gourd, is left to collect the draining sap for a day or two. The sap begins fermentation|fermenting immediately after collection due to natural microorganisms in the air (this is often spurred by residual yeast left in the collecting container). Within two hours, fermentation yields an aromatic wine of up to 4% alcohol content, mildly intoxication|intoxicating and sweet. The wine may be allowed to ferment longer, up to a day, to yield a stronger, more sour and acidic taste, which some people prefer. Longer fermentation produces vinegar instead of stronger wine. The wine is drunk fairly soon after creation, since it has a short shelf life. It is especially common in India and coastal areas of Africa.The sap used to create palm wine is most often taken from wild d! ate (fruit)|date palms such as the ''Phoenix sylvestrix'', the palmyra, and the ''Caryota urens''; oil|palm oil palm such as ''Elaeis guineense''; ''Raphia'' palms; ''Kithul'' palms; or ''Nipa'' palms. The Heidelberg Tun (known in German as the Grosses Fass) is an extremely large wine vat contained within the cellars of Heidelberg Castle. It has a capacity of approximately 220,017 litres (58,124 gallons). It was made in 1751 of oak from reputedly 130 trees. It has only rarely been used. A dance floor was constructed on top of the tun. It is now a popular tourist attraction in Heidelberg.The Tun is referenced in Jules Verne's novel ''Five Weeks in a Balloon'', Washington Irving in ''The Specter Bridegroom'', Mary Hazelton Wade's ''Bertha'' and by Mark Twain in ''A Tramp Abroad''.
It can also be found in Herman Melville's "Moby Dick".

Kefir (alternately ''kephir'', ''kewra'', ''talai'', ''mudu kekiya'', ''matsoun'', ''matsoni'', ''waterkefir'', ''milkkefir'') is a fermented milk drink originating in the Caucasus.This drink is prepared by inoculating cow's or goat's milk with the grains - or "beads" - of previous kefir batches. Kefir grains are a combination of probiotic bacterium|bacteria and yeasts in a matrix of proteins, lipids and sugars. Lactobacillus acidophilus and Saccharomyces kefir are widely used, though the exact combination of bacteria and yeasts vary between cultures. The milk is incubated at room temperature for a day or more, during which the lactose is fermented. The resulting beverage is a sour, carbonated, slightly alcoholic drink. The consistency is similar to yoghurt. In fact, most American "kefir" lacks both carbonation and alcohol and is nothing more than liquid yogurt.Variations that thrive in various other liquids exist. Rammed-earth construction is a technique used in the creation of a house. In its simplest form it involves dumping moist soil mixed with a small portion of clay into forms. The mixture is then rammed or compacted, it solidifies and the forms are removed. Rammed-earth construction is very common in arid regions where wood is in scare supply. One historical disadvantage of rammed-earth houses was their weakness to water. Freak rain storms could and do wash away rammed-earth villages in arid regions where rain is almost never experienced.Modern rammed-earth homes are created using a combination of dirt mixture, re-bar, and styrofoam. The dirt mixture consists of clay, sand, and small gravel and is supplemented with ten percent cement.Regular footings are poured, the foam is placed to form a horizontal wall along the footing, re-bar is placed surrounding the foam, forms are built around the wall, and finally the mixture of clay, sand, gravel and cement is poured into the form la! yer by layer. Once the mixture is set the forms are removed and the wall is water sealed.Houses build using the modern technique are one of the most environmentally friendly. The thermal mass and insulating properties of the rammed-earth walls reduce heating requirements far below the average dwelling.
